Here is a list of community resource links that would be of interest to the parents and families of the children in my classroom. Child Care Resource and Referral Program

Provides counseling and customer education material, referrals to all types of child care, parenting workshops, resource library, and newsletters.

Craven County Home Societyof North Carolina

Promotes the right of every child to a permanent, safe and loving home. Services include pregnancy counseling, family and therapeutic foster care, domestic adoption for infants and older children and adoption support services.

American Red Cross

Red Cross disaster relief focuses on meeting people's immeduate emergency disaster-caused needs. When a disaster threatens or strikes, the Red Cross provides shelter, food, and health and mental health services to address basic human needs.

CARTS provides transportation services to the general public with special emphasis on the provision of such services to elderly and have disabilities.

Child Support Enforcement

Child Support Enforcement is a program that works to ensure both parents are responsible for the financial assistance and support of their children to the best of their ability.

Food Stamp Program

This is a federal assistance program that helps provide food assistance to low-income families that are issued through EBT cards.

Sells clothing, small appliances, household items and furniture.

The North Carolina Division of Child Development

Provides information parents need to make the best possible child care choices. This information includes Star rating license information, Sanitation scores, Complaint investigations, Visits made by Division Staff, and Reports of any administrative actions taken.

Information about  help paying child care expenses for low income and single parent families.

Coastal Women's  Shelter

Provides services that include a 24 hour crisis hotline, emergency temporary and transition shelter, and court advocacy.

Autism Support Group

The Autism Society of NC is committed to providing support and promoting opportunities which enhance the lives of individual with autism spectrum and their families.

Exceptional Children's Assistance Center

They are committed to improving the lives and education of all children, with an emphasis on children with disabilities.

Family Support Network of the Crystal Coast

Services include Craven County to offer support for families of children with special needs by providing a one-on-one parent match with a trained support parent for emotional support, assistance in finding community resources, and sharing parenting experiences.
